Just a minor note, it was pointed out to me that the IC forum e-mail system was reconfigured; if you tried to register, the e-mail would have been sent from "postnuke@example.com", and so probably wound up in your spam box.
I have changed the system to use the correct address, intocerberon@chmodoplusr.com. Of course, e-mails from the site may still wind up in your junk mail regardless, but at least it's correct. If you tried to register recently and had trouble, please check your spam folder or try re-registering. If you still have problems, let me know at hexetic@hotmail.com and I can register you manually. Iceheart is hard at work on a variety of model updates, including pieces for forming our "destroyed Pyro" to be a part of the player death animation in IC 004. I've added a few sample renders to the Moddb Gallery, take a look:

Our apologies for the downtime here at chmodoplusr.com. Our former hosting company decided to arbitrarily terminate our hosting contract under the pretext that this website was monopolozing the shared server CPU.
Naturally, given the small size and low complexity of the website, such a problem could only have arisen either out of an attack on or a fault in the PostNuke or PNphpBB2 systems. The former web serving company has, to my great disgust, declined to provide logs of the incident, so I'm left in the dark as to what exactly went wrong. Regardless, hosting companies of their calibre are a dime a dozen, and as you can see, the new one is now functioning just fine. No data whatsoever has been lost. I have made some configuration changes to try to enhance the anti-flood protection and I will be monitoring the website to ensure that chmodoplusr.com does not cause undue stress on our current webhosts. With the coding enhancements implemented in the last IR settling in, iceheart is hard at work creating low-poly versions of Spectre's models for the Quad-Fire Laser Upgrade, Merlin MMS weapon, and Merlin MMS ammo pack. Here's some renders of the there for you:
Remember, these are renders of the in-game models. Doom 3 won't light them as nicely, but every polygon you see is a polygon you'll get. Posted by: HeXetic on Nov 15, 2007 - 04:19 AM
A new internal release is now available. For end-users, the appeal will primarily be a fixed version of ic_damp and a music volume slider in the menu for people who HATE our music even though we have the most rad-to-the-max beats this side of Frank Klepacki, yo.
Get your IR on in the forums, and stay tuned for another one next weekend, if we can manage it. Posted by: HeXetic on Nov 12, 2007 - 03:33 AM
I'm pleased to announce another new face in the IC family: Jon "Verran" Vukovich has signed-on to create some music tracks for us. Verran is a great techno artist who's even contributed to Core Decision, the commercial 6DOF game. His music will likely be featured in ic_mine and ic_damp in IC004, and we'll be looking in to implementing some kind of jukebox or music-rotation system to support our somewhat lopsided number of musicians.
Welcome aboard, Verran! Posted by: HeXetic on Sep 16, 2007 - 09:16 PM
I believe I now have a correctly-configured dedicated server running using the latest IC IR (see the post below). It should show up in your server list, or you can pull down the console and type
connect 76.67.52.130:27666 to get there manually. I've opened the ports on my router and even enabled this fancy-pants system whereby it'll prioritize game traffic so hopefully the connection won't be too bad while I'm downloading my Khazakh Interracial Donkey-on-Goat videoskopemachine... uh, data files.Posted by: HeXetic on Sep 16, 2007 - 04:01 PM
"Wait a minute," you're saying, "why are you advertising an internal release on the front page?" Well, the simple answer is because our Internal Releases are not going to be so internal anymore. I decided that it really wasn't fair to cut you all out on the wacky antics and high-larious crazyness that are our IRs, so from now on, all of our Internal Releases will be public. They won't be posted on moddb, and I won't be linking to the downloads here on the front page, but you'll find them in the Internal Discussion forum, with a description of what's new. IR 2007-09-16, as with our previous internal releases, consists of a couple of add-on PK4 files that you simply slap into your IC003a
intoceberon/ folder. Check out the forum thread for the download link as well as a list of changes, and what's more, as soon as I can figure out the correct setup I'll be running a dedicated server today using that IR which should hopefully not suck too much. Before you go and get all giddy, though, bear in mind two important caveats to our Internal Releases:
Don't forget -- to use this IR, you need to have IC 003a and your copy of Doom 3 has to be patched up to 1.3.1 (which it has to be to play regular IC 003a anyways). See my post below if you're having trouble finding 1.3.1; there are now mirrors of the Doom 3 patches in our downloads area. Posted by: HeXetic on Sep 16, 2007 - 03:46 PM
The culmination of his very life's work, iceheart has been toiling away for ages and ages on re-doing the low-poly version of Spectre's original high-poly Pyro GX model, and now it's (almost) done. Featuring an improved normal map and skin and weighing in at 1600 triangles less than the old one, iceheart's new downsample will be included henceforth in all internal releases and, of course, in the forthcoming IC004. Take a gander at these before-and-after pics as well as a nice shot of the new model.

Since the #1 issue regarding IC 003a seems to be not having the Doom 3 1.3.1 patch, and since I've noticed that, rather pathetically, the 1.3.1 installers are somewhat hard to find, I've taken the liberty of mirroring them on moddb. Now there are no more excuses for not having a fully-patched version of Doom 3!
