Hey guys I was just fooling around in the editor today and I created this concept of what the flames and headlights could look like when playing IC.

Woooot
Sweet!
I assume that "concept" means it's all static...

However, we never spoke about flaming engines, and their color is definitely blue/cyan

I am aware of the colours, no its not static, its actual particle effects and stuff, I just place the pyro model with a couple of func_fx around it. But they aren't binded to the model, so you can't fly around with the jet flames and headlights, YET.

Looks awesome. I don't suppose you could get me the same headlight shot at 1600x1200 (with no HUD, of course)? We need to start making some promotional material like wallpapers and such, and that's a great pic for it.

Some maps are gonna be bright, some maps are gonna be dark, and some maps are gonna have a little of both.

But yeah, generally speaking "dark" is something we're going to explore a lot with IC.

Oh my! That is incredible! I love you guys. When I first saw hexetic on various forums talking about his idea for making a Descent mod for Doom3, I was sceptical. I've seen many projects dedicated to remaking descent is some way. None of which actually made it to completion, or even made it off the drawing board for that matter. When I first saw the pictures of the marine with his head in the ground demonstrating 6DoF, I was very happy to see that the project was actually going to be started. Now as I've watched the progress, and listened in on IRC over the past several months, I see how dedicated you guys are to seeing this through to completion. Now Seeing that picture with Pyro in the mines with the flames and the headlights makes me so excited! I can't wait to see what this is going to be like! Great Job Guys, and Keep up the good work!

That marine pic was a pretty one Smile.

You've been listening in on IRC? Under what name? I can't remember seeing you Smile.

He may mean over in #descent3, where I occasionally do drive-by-pimpings.

Do you mean in the game or in the movies?

In the movies and screencuts, the AB's were blue. In the game I think they are white/orange-yellow.

At anyrate. the pix looks cool. : )
